I Think I've Scarred My Child. . .

Yesterday, I was sitting at the computer. Ali came up and crawled in my lap and said, "See Jarrod's blog please."

Surprised at this request because I've never really took her "blog hopping" before, I said okay, and pulled it up.

"See Christie's blog, please."

This is just weird. How does she know these people have blogs? So I pulled that one up.

"See Kendall's blog, please."

Good guess number three?!?!?! Okay, pulled that one up.

"See Gramamma's blog, please."

Finally! At least I now know that she hasn't been secretly reading all the blogs off of my Google Reader. So I say, "Sorry, honey. Gramamma doesn't have a blog."

(In a desperate voice), "See POP'S BLOG?!?!?!?!"

"Nope, he doesn't have one either."

I think I'm the only person in the world whose two year old thinks that everyone has a blog.

Wordless Wednesday - Church Play

Why is Church the most fun place to play?

And the Sanctuary in the Church is the most exciting place in church to play?

And the Stage in the Sanctuary in the Church is just heavenly (no pun intended) to play on?

Alas, it was for me when I was their age, and it certainly is for them:
Yes, I know, my child is so ladylike. . .

Silly Things that I Want to Remember

On our way to the beach a couple of weeks ago, after sitting in her seat for so long, Ali started to study things that she might not normally study.

At one point, she exclaimed excitedly, "Ali has a MOON on her finger, Mommy!!!"

I looked back and realized that she was noticing the crescent shape of the white part of her fingernail.

"No honey, that's your fingernail. But it looks like a moon!!"

"Ooooh. Finguhnail."

She has desperately wanted to get into the pages of her book lately.

Like, literally.

She will point to a picture and say, "Ali go in there, Mommy!!"

We were eating lunch the other day, and in her most polite voice, she said, "Mommy cut the cheese, please!".

AJ was sick a few weeks ago, and so Ali didn't get to see her for quite a while. I explained to her that she was sick, and that we needed to pray for her, which she did every night.

One time after I got off the phone with Ashley, Ali asked about AJ. I said, "AJ is still sick, honey." Ali said, "AJ no-no feel good. Pray for her?!?!?!" and grabbed my hand.

I love her instantaneous urges to pray. They are the best!

Ali certainly doesn't have a lack of self-confidence. We were headed to the car the other day, and she told me energetically, "How cute Ali is!! And funny!! How exciting and beautiful Ali is!!"

This is such a fun age.

For Barkley (again) :)

Ali loved her new outfit, especially since it came with so many accessories!!
I asked her to show me her bracelet. . .
But she didn't think that was a close enough view.
Yup, she was a happy girl.

She's a Logical Child. . .

Even when it comes to her emotions.

She often comes up to me after crying about something and matter of factly informs me, "Ali all done crying now."

The other day, she was demanding something in an unpleasant manner. I said, "Nope. That was bossy. And it was whiny."

She thought about it, looked at me, and said, "AND it was fussy."

Another recent day, we were at the mall playing with AJ and Ali had a stinky diaper. I called her over to quit playing so that I could change it. She didn't want to quit playing, of course, but she came anyway. She laid down, and said "Ali no-no temper tantrum".

I really love having a logical child.

Wordless Wednesday - The Perfect Outfit.

Because you're not truly prepared unless you are prepared for rain,
sun,
snow,
companionship,
and for the remote possibility that you might be spotted by Clinton and Stacy from What Not To Wear.
Ah, style.
