Brave Zoo Fun

We went to the Zoo on Friday with Harris, David, Amy Beth, and Jennifer. Ali loved hanging out with "The boys", I do believe.

But of course, she was still Miss Independent. While the boys were enjoying watching the Sea Lions. . .
Ali was much happier playing on the bleachers for the Sea Lion show. She always wants to play on those. . .

Me and the three older kids took a train ride together while Jennifer and Amy Beth stayed back. David said that we were "squished", but Harris informed him that this was good, that it would keep us from falling off:

I was pleasantly surprised that Ali's bravery has increased since our last visit. She was willing to get close to the Llama. . .

and even attempted to brush him!!!
As excited as I was for this new development, I was also slightly weary, being that this was the same Llama that attempted to eat my hair and her clothes last year.

She also was willing to walk up to the baby goat that Jennifer and Amy Beth were petting. . .

And then even found her own goat and went and sat down beside him!
David had to check out Ali's new pet. . .
And Ali demonstrated to Amy Beth how to pet him.

She learned quickly.
It was a perfect Day for the Zoo!

Self-Permitted

I was washing dishes the other day and Ali headed towards my office. Since there is a ton of stuff to "get into" in there, I called after her to stay in the kitchen until I got finished.

She stopped for a minute, then kept walking, and I heard her tell herself, "You can go into Mommy's office, if you like."

I called her back and said, "Ali, what did MOMMY tell you to do?"

She looked confused, but obeyed.

I guess you have to learn sometime that just getting "any" permission (such as permission from oneself) doesn't cut it.

Wordless Wednesday - Potty Training Deceptiveness

Did she really think that this was going to fool me into giving her M&M's?
And this is what you call bustin' out of your jammies. . .
I wonder at what hour of the night that zipper busted? She doesn't seem to mind the fresh air, though. . .

My Future Gymnast

Ali is obsessed with watching Gymnastics. We have a good family friend, Rachel Terry, on the Alabama Gymnastics team this year, so I DVR their meets for Ali, and she begs to watch "flips" over and over, doing "tricks" and "flips" and "slides" while watching it.

Here is her newest trick, which she can only pull off in her crib so far, so has added it to her Crazy Crib Routine. She is quite proud of it, so she wanted to make sure that I shared it with you.

Wordless Wednesday: A Day at the Museum.

I tried SO HARD to get a cute picture of Ali and Kendall together.

Out of at least 10,694 pictures, I ended up with:

Kendall looking adorable and Ali mid-blink:

Ali giving a cute smirk and Kendall fighting off the evil magnadoodle pen:

And Ali giving a great smile and Kendall's, well, not-a-smile:

And, what's the worst thing that can happen when you allow your two-year-olds to play on a dance floor with a bunch of unknown boys five times their age?

I was thinking through all of the possibilities, but didn't think of this one: They both become enamored and fell in love.

Final picture: catching virtual butterflies:Check out my other Wordless Wednesday at my Main Blog.
